Cuts coming to Connecticut’s ‘Care 4 Kids’

(WTNH) — Connecticut officials are going to be letting less people in the ‘Care 4 Kids’ program.

Care 4 Kids is the state’s child care system for low-income families.

Now these changes aren’t going to effect anyone currently in the program.

Just new applicants.

The state says it will close the program to teen parents or former recipients of temporary assistance for needy families benefits within the last five years.

An estimated 1,800 families, and 2,700 children, could be effected in the next round of applicants when those restrictions are tightened.
