SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — 55-year-old Kenneth Johnson was arrested for sexually assaulting another customer at the Queen St. Walmart on Friday.
On Friday at 7:53 p.m., Southington officers responded to the Walmart at 235 Queen St. They say dispatchers had received a report of a sexual assault on one customer by another.
A shopper reported to officers that she was in the men’s section of the sprawling store, when she felt someone bump into her. Writing it off as “possibly accidental,” she moved on, only to feel the same person assaulting her moments later.
Police say that 55-year-old Kenneth Johnson “grabbed her buttocks and squeezed them.”
The victim pushed Johnson off her, moving towards the front of the store. He reportedly got into a car and sped off before police arrived.
Police managed to stop the car, and proceeded to arrest the Southington resident without incident.
Johnson is due to appear in Bristol Superior Court on December 5, facing sexual assault and breach of peace charges
