Momma cat reunited with four kittens rescued from Quinnipiac University storm drain

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Reunited and it feels so good. The cat family that was trapped in a Quinnipiac University storm drain is finally all back together again.

The four kittens were rescued on Tuesday and nearly 24 hours later, their mom finally made her own way out of the storm drain and was found nearby on campus.

The mom and her kittens spent Monday night and Tuesday morning huddled in that storm drain outside of a residence hall. Students, campus ground employees, Hamden Animal Control and Super Paws Rescue of Southport all worked to rescue them. After hours of effort and coaxing, rescuers were able to lure the four kittens from the drain, but the mother eluded rescue workers. They were confident she would be able to make it out of the drain safely on her own.
