3 arrested for robbery attempt at Stratford deli

STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have arrested three individuals who attempted to rob Checkers Deli in Stratford on Nov. 30.

After a short foot pursuit and motor vehicle stop, all three suspects were taken into custody for the attempted deli robbery on 1796 Barnum Ave. Dishaun Brown, 39-year-old of Bridgeport, Desmond Hunter, 26-year-old of Bridgeport, and Davon Taylor, 22-year-old of Stratford were held on $150,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior court on Dec. 9, 2016. Each suspect was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in the first-degree, carrying a fire arm without a permit, interfering with an officer, weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a gun without a permit, and altering ID on a fire arm.

Police say a 9mm handgun was recovered inside the vehicle. The loaded magazine for the weapon was located later on Barnum Ave. near Noble Street where the suspects discarded it.
