HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Administrators in the Hamden school district announced Wednesday that they are conducting an investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct by a teacher at Hamden High School.
According to the Hamden Superintendent’s office, on Monday, Hamden High School officials received a complaint from a parent alleging that a teacher had used inappropriate conduct with their child.
On Wednesday, the Hamden Superintendent’s office issued the following statement:
On Monday, November 21, 2016, the Hamden High School administration received a parent complaint regarding allegations of inappropriate conduct by a teacher at Hamden High School.
In keeping with well-established protocols, the teacher was immediately removed from the classroom and was placed on administrative leave with pay and without prejudice while the district investigates this matter.
The safety of our students is our top priority. This allegation will be thoroughly investigated and the district will continue to cooperate and collaborate with appropriate authorities as necessary.
The teacher, who has not been identified, has not been charged with any crime. School officials are continuing their investigation.
