KILLINGLY, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people have been charged after police say they overdosed Thursday night while with a five-year-old child.

State police say 23-year-olds Maya Almond-Lawson and Elijah Collins admitted to smoking marijuana at a home in Killingly. Police think the marijuana was likely tainted.

The people who live in the apartment say they left for 20 minutes. They say they found the two unconscious and breathing erratically when they came back.

Both the Plainfield man and Willimantic woman are charged with risk of injury to a minor. They were each held on $2,500 bond. The Department of Children and Families has been notified about the incident.
