PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WTNH) — A Rhode Island man driving at speeds of more than 110 miles per hour through heavy traffic is now in the hospital, and the whole thing was caught on his facebook live video.

Onasi Olio-Rojas, 26, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, driving at more than 110 miles per hour when he crashed into a garbage truck on Route 6 in Providence Wednesday morning.

According to police, Rojas streamed the entire event on facebook live video while driving at high speed. Officers said his car was completely destroyed in the accident.

One Rhode Island State Trooper expressed his shock that someone would drive so recklessly, and stream it for all to see.

But I’ve never seen anything like that. And for other people to watch it. I would hope it’s eye-opening for anyone else… “

Rhode Island State Police reached out to facebook to submit a legal request for the social media network to save that live stream video for evidence. Troopers say Rojas faces a long list of charges.
