West Hartford police investigating fatal accident on South Main Street

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — West Hartford police are investigating what may have caused a fatal accident on South Main Street Friday morning.

Just before 7:00 a.m., West Hartford police were dispatched to South Main Street between New Britain Avenue and Elmfield Street on a report of a serious accident involving a pedestrian. The initial report to police said that CPR was in progress.

Upon arrival, officers and firefighters provided medical aid to the victim, who was transported to Hartford Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead a short time later.

West Hartford police are continuing their investigation. If you witnessed this accident, or have any information that could help with the investigation, you’re asked to call West Hartford police at 860-523-5203.
