Attempted robbery at Manchester hotel

MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH)  –  Police in Manchester are investigating an attempted robbery at the Extended Stay America Hotel on the Tolland Turnpike.

Police say a man with a hand gun tried to rob the hotel at 1:38 a.m. Tuesday but was unsuccessful and fled the hotel empty handed.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40’s, clean shaven, about 5’8″ tall and weighing 150 – 170 pounds.   He was wearing a black hooded Timberland sweatshirt with the hood up, blue jeans and black rubber gloves.   He also smelled like cigarettes.

Police are asking anyone with information on the crime to call them at 860-645-5543.
