Funeral held for state representative Betty Boukus

PLAINVILLE, Conn. (WTNH)– Family and friends said goodbye to state representative Betty Boukus Wednesday. Her funeral was held in the morning in Plainville.

Boukus served the 22nd district which is Plainville and New Britain for more than two decades. She recently lost her re-election bid to Dr. William Petit.

Boukus died last Friday at the age of 73 after a battle with cancer.

Boukus leaves behind her husband of 50 years, as well as two children and four grandchildren.
