I-84 reopens in Danbury after tractor trailer rollover

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH)– All lanes are back open after I-84 westbound was shut down in Danbury Wednesday morning.

The Department of Transportation reports that I-84 westbound was completely closed between exits 6 and 5 because of tractor trailer truck rollover.

The accident was reported around 4:47 a.m. Police say a freightliner was towing a trailer containing CVS merchandise when it struck the Jersey Barrier on the right shoulder and rolled onto its driver’s side. The vehicle slid until came to a final rest in the left and center lanes.

The driver was not injured.

DOT trucks and tow trucks responded to the scene to remove the vehicle.
