Grandma wins big and plans to shares with grandchildren

ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) – One Rockfall woman is excited to spread her lottery winnings with all of her grandchildren.

According to the Connecticut Lottery, Florence Meadows won $100,000 on Black Friday after picking certain numbers that were important to her.

All five numbers that were chosen came from her family’s birthdays. Four were from her children’s birthday’s and the fifth from her husbands.

Meadows said she went to bed early the night of November 24 and woke up on November 25, prayed as she looked at the winning numbers and couldn’t contain her excitement when she saw she won.

Meadows plans to spoil her seven grandchildren during the holiday season.

“I’ll give most away to the kids! I’m sure [the kids] will go crazy,” she said.

The winning numbers drawn on November 25, 2016 were 4, 13, 20, 26, and 28.

Meadows said she might get herself a new computer.

Hasnain LLC in Rockfall will receive a $1,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

The overall odds of winning Cash5 are 1 in 72.1.  The chance of winning the top prize is 1 in 324,632.
