Task force makes drug arrests in Groton

GROTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Groton Police, with assistance from The Regional Community Enhancement Task Force, arrest 2 men on drug charges. According to police, 39-year-old Shakim Outler and 35-year-old Rasheem Singleton, both of New London, were in possession of cocaine and crack cocaine when police stopped their vehicle yesterday during surveillance of a high crime area in Groton. Both men are also charged with intent to sell. The task force that assisted in the arrest is comprised of detectives and office from southeastern Connecticut. The group was formed to combat the heroin epidemic in the area and improve the quality of life for area residents.
