Expect lane closures, delays on Skiff Street in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Two lanes on Skiff Street over the Mill River will be closed on Monday for utility work in the area.

The lanes will be closed at 9:00 a.m. on Monday and are expected to be back open around 5:00 p.m.

Drivers are advised to expect significant traffic delays during the day on Monday and to use caution around construction equipment and workers.

The businesses along Skiff Street will remain open.

The Town of Hamden is replacing the Skiff Street Bridge over the Mill River in multiple phases over the next few years.

Additional utility work, minor clearing and site preparation will be conducted through December and into early 2017.

Full bridge replacement construction is anticipated to begin in the early spring of 2017.
