Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) What began as a rather routine traffic stop on I-91 in Hartford has landed a local man behind bars on narcotics and gun charges. State troopers arrested 18 year old Naseem Wilson of Hartford after they pulled over the Acura he was driving near exit 32-B because its headlights were not turned on. According to police, a search of the vehicle turned up a plastic bag that contained a marijuana and a Ruger.380 caliber handgun.
There were four rounds in the chamber in the magazine of the gun and one its chamber at the time Wilson was taken into custody. A further check of the weapon revealed that it had been reported stolen. Wilson is now being held on a quarter of a million dollars bond on charges of operating a motor vehicle without headlights lit, operating a motor vehicle without a license, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a pistol without a permit, having weapons in a motor vehicle and stealing a firearm.
A 16 year old passenger in the vehicle was charged with possession of less than one half ounce of marijuana.
