Rain for commuters along the shoreline

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– The shoreline is getting hit with some heavy rain at times this Monday morning. For the commuters who take I-95 to work or school, it’s the rain, not the snow that could make things slippery.

If you were hoping for a festive covering of snow, you’re not going to get it on the shoreline. There’s nothing to worry about on I-95 in terms of frozen precipitation or anything residual from the overnight snow.

However, drivers should watch out for ponding and keep the speed down to avoid hydroplaning. Bridges and overpasses may have some slush and iciness, so commuters should also take it slow in those areas.
