NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty is going to be honoring the four year anniversary of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School with a “planned day of kindness.”

It’s happening on Monday, December 12th.

Esty has scheduled stops across her district, that district includes New Britain, Farmington, Torrington and Waterbury.

The four year anniversary mark of Sandy Hook falls on Wednesday, December 14.

On Monday, at the YMCA in New Britain, Esty will be joined by Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal in reading to a classroom of preschoolers.

The books will have themes that touch upon the ideas of kindness and acceptance.
