UPS driver saves woman being held captive by husband

James Jordan (Franklin County Sheriff's Office)

ROBERTSVILLE, Mo. (MEDIA GENERAL) — A UPS driver is being credited with saving a woman who was beaten and held captive in her home by her own husband.

Police arrested James Jordan at the couple’s Robertsville, Missouri, home Tuesday.

Citing court documents, KMOV in St. Louis reported Jordan beat his wife, put a gun to her head and threatened to kill her. He also dragged her back inside by her hair when she tried to run away.

Authorities said the couple’s 3-year-old child was locked in a room for hours while the assault, starting Monday night, occurred.

Police were notified after the UPS driver picked up a package from the home with the message “Contact 911” written on it.

Jordan, 33, was booked into jail on $100,000 bond.

He faces charges of domestic assault, sodomy, felonious restraint, unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
