Connecticut’s unemployment rate drops to 4.7%

WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) – According to the State Department of Labor, Connecticut’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.7% in November. The figure is down four-tenths of a percentage point from October 2016 (5.1%).This is the fifth consecutive monthly decline in the state’s unemployment rate. The state’s jobless rate is also at 4.7%, which is seven-tenths of a percentage point lower than a year ago (5.4%). The US unemployment rate was calculated at 4.6% for November, down one-tenth of percentage point from October 2016 and four-tents of a point from a year ago.
