New London Police make multiple arrests, clean streets of drugs & stolen firearms

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — Through out various locations with in the city over the course of the past week the New London Police Department has made multiple arrests during a ‘Quality of Life Initiative’.

Members of the City of New London Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Section have conducted multiple narcotics field operations to address Quality of Life issues and concerns in different areas of the city. During the initiative, the following individuals were arrested and charged:
Jesus Fernandez, of Providence, RI was charged with possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

Michael Luciano, of New London was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell with in 1500’ of School, and operation of drug factory, 21a-277(c)

Eddy Pen, of Providence, RI was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell with in 1500’ of School.

Louis Nieves-Rosado, of New London was charged with sale of narcotics.

John Smith, of Westerly, RI was charged with violation of protection order, two counts of possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell (2 counts), and tampering with evidence.

Rakim Isom Seales, of New London was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, theft of a firearm, and violation of a protective order.

In association of the arrests, $2,340 cash was confiscated along with the seizure of approximately 165.1 grams of heroin, approximately 35.4 grams of crack cocaine and a stolen Ruger .22cal revolver firearm.
