(WTNH)–Two people have died after a plane crash in East Windsor on Tuesday night. A small, single-engine plane went down near Skylark Airport just before 7 p.m.

The small airport is located off of Wells Road in East Windsor. Investigators said the plane ended up nose-down with its tail in the air about 50 yards from the driveway of a home.

Police said witnesses told them it appeared the plane stalled.

Officials from the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the scene on Wednesday. Police said NTSB officials estimate it will take about two days to complete a thorough investigation.

Police are withholding the identities of both victims until their families are notified. We do know that both of the victims are adults.

Officials said the last deadly plane crash in the area was about 35 years ago.
