- FILE - Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy (WTNH)

(WTNH) — A bill to weaken affordable housing standards in Connecticut will not become law.

Governor Malloy vetoed that bill on Friday.

It would have made it easier for cities and towns to refuse building more affordable housing. The governor says state laws should encourage building affordable housing.

He says everyone should be able to afford living in whatever town or city they want.
