State Police announce the passing of a retired K9 officer

(WTNH) — State Police announced on Friday the passing of one of their retired police dogs.

Hunter the German Shepard graduated from the canine academy in 2007 and was assigned to Danielson.

He spent seven years on the force and retired in 2014.

State Police say they are saddened by the passing and that during his career, Hunter found countless suspects and located dozens of lost and missing children and adults throughout the state.
