Greenwich Wine and Food Festival

(WTNH)-The two-day Greenwich Wine + Food Festival celebrates the best in food, wine and cocktails on the shore of Long Island Sound, kicking off with a Master Chef Dinner on Friday evening, this year honoring celebrity chef Scott Conant and the 2017 Most Innovative Chefs.  Adam Richman will again be in attendance, and the night will be capped off with a performance by Big Head Todd & The Monsters.  Saturday is the heart of the 2017 Greenwich Wine + Food Festival, celebrating food, beverage and music.  The Grand Tasting tent is the center of the Festival, with tastings and demonstrations from more than 150+ of the area’s finest food, wine, spirits experts, in addition to the Bud & Burger, Empire City Casino and South of the Border Fiesta tents.  Guests can also enjoy presentations, celebrity book signings, Q&A sessions with top culinary experts, celebrity and local cooking demos (including Scott, Adam, Alex Guarnaschelli, and Mario Batali!), a celebrity green room with live interviews, The Market Place with the latest and greatest in culinary product trends and industry technology, and an exclusive Meet the Masters Panel discussion.  The 6th Annual Burger Battle, hosted by Adam (with judges Scott and Alex), and the 3rd Annual Top Bartender Showdown provide friendly competition between area restaurants.  The evening closes with a live musical performance by Train.

As always, one aspect that makes this festival unique is that proceeds benefit local and national charities; this year’s beneficiaries include the James Beard Foundation and the Greenwich Parks & Recreation Fund and the Mario Batali Foundation.
