Farmington man seriously injured in New Britain moped crash

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Britain man is being treated for serious injuries after being struck by a car while he rode his moped Monday afternoon.

Just after 4:30 p.m., New Britain first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Stanley Street and Alexander Road on a report of a serious crash involving a car and a moped. The moped’s operator, an 18-year-old man from Farmington, sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries in the crash. The moped rider was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers say the driver of the car is a 23-year-old New Britain resident. The driver of the car was not hurt in the crash, and is fully cooperating with police in their investigation.

New Britain police are continuing their investigation. No charges have been filed against either driver.
