20-year-old man shot twice in Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A 20-year-old man is recovering after being shot twice in Danbury on Thursday afternoon.

According to Danbury Police, at approximately 1:20 p.m., first responders were sent to a residence on Church Hill Road for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, the first responders say they found a 20-year-old man with two gunshot wounds. They say the man was shot once in each arm with bird-shot style ammo.

First responders transported the man to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Westside Middle School Academy and the Mill Ridge Primary School were placed on a temporary lock-down.

Officers say the investigation is ongoing and active.
