HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Access Health CT is looking ahead to 2018.
“Today you will hear updates on improvements being implemented,” said Jim Wadleigh, CEO for Access Health CT.
A monthly board meeting was held in Hartford Thursday, but this one was rather important because it outlined some big changes. First, Anthem and ConnectiCare announcing they will stay with Access Health.
“If for some reason we lost one of them that meant that they would have to come to the exchange and look for a plan outside the chosen plan they had in 2017,” said Andrea Ravitz, director of marketing and sales for Access Health CT.
Up until now there were only two Access Health offices in the state, located in New Haven and New Britain. Now there are more options. Eight more enrollment centers have been added and are located in:
• New Britain
• New Haven
• East Hartford
• Norwich/New London area
Also, some important dates to remember. Open enrollment in the exchange is from November 1st thru December 22nd.
“So that gives people a little more time to go shop and make sure they’re really doing their homework and analyzing the best plan for them and their families,” said Ravitz.
As a reminder there is a $695 tax penalty if you don’t sign up.
The CEO of Access Health CT also sending a message to everyone who’s concerned about the future of their insurance. “The Affordable Care act, also known as Obamacare, is still the law.”
Keep in the mind the enrollment period is for insurance that starts as of January 1, 2018.
