I-91 northbound in Rocky Hill reopens after fatal crash

ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) — State Police are investigating a fatal crash that closed Interstate 91 northbound in Rocky Hill early Saturday morning.

Authorities say that two vehicles collided on I-91 NB in the area of Exit 23 in Rocky Hill. After the collision, a light pole was struck prior to the two vehicles coming to final rest in the tree line alongside the right side of the roadway.

The driver of the first car, Eugene Francis Misiewicz, 51 of Cheshire, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The passenger of the second car, Samra Dervisevic, 23 of Wethersfield, was transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while the driver, Hurija Muskic, 22 of Hartford, suffered no injuries.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation reported that I-91 was closed between exits 23 and 24 while the vehicles were removed from the scene.
