Relay for Life held in Milford on Saturday

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A nationwide event benefiting the American Cancer Society, the Relay for Life was held in Milford on Saturday.

The annual event is in its 15th year in Milford. Relay for Life raises money with a goal of helping to eliminate cancer.

Milford Mayor Ben Blake declared Saturday Cancer Awareness Day in the city.

The Relay for Life event happened all night, running from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m.

News 8’s Renée Chmiel, a cancer survivor herself, spoke at the event.
