Fairfield Police investigate drowning at Perry Mill’s Pond

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) –The Fairfield Police Department is investigating after a teenage male was drowning at Perry Mill’s Pond on Saturday night.

The Fairfield Police Dive Team responded to a report of a possible drowning at Perry Mill’s Pond around 6 p.m.

Witnesses said the victim and some of his friends were swimming in the pond when he slipped below the surface, unable to get back to shore.

The dive team was able to pull the victim from the water at 6:59 p.m., according to police. They said life-saving efforts were started immediately as he was brought to an ambulance. From there, authorities say he was transported to the hospital.

Police have not released any more information, and the investigation is ongoing.
