Local dance studio proving anyone can dance

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – The Fred Astaire Dance Studio of West Hartford has set out to prove anyone can dance. With hit television shows like ABC’s Dancing with the Stars more men are trying ballroom dancing and this morning Clemens Lengenfelder stopped by our studio with some of his dancers to give us a preview.

Some things Lengenfelder shared with us:

With the success of male athletes on Dancing with the Stars, pop culture hits like La La Land and even the NFL removing barriers to let players do celebratory dances when scoring, more men are trying out ballroom dancing than ever.

Anyone can learn to ballroom dance. Men traditionally worried about ballroom dancing lessons because they are less likely to have dancing experience than women, but no experience is necessary to learn how to ballroom dance.

No partner is necessary! You don’t need to be coupled-up in order to try ballroom dancing. There are plenty of singles learning to dance so you can dance with an instructor, or dance with another student!
