New Haven police investigating two separate shootings

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)–Police in New Haven are now investigating two separate shootings.

The first happened on Thursday, when police said a 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Franklin Street in the city. He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Several cars were struck by bullets in the incident.

The second shooting happened on Friday on Hazel Street near Sherman Avenue, where a 35-year-old man from New Haven had been shot in the groin. He was also transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A black 2014 Nissan Maxima is being searched as it may have been connected to the crime.

Police have seized video of both incidents.
