Norwalk Police identify victim in fatal hit-and-run

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — The pedestrian who was struck and killed in Norwalk Friday evening has been identified by police.

According to authorities, 65-year-old Archie Hilliard of Norwalk was struck and killed Friday night at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Lowe Street.

When authorities arrived to the scene of the accident, they say they found Hilliard lying in the street suffering from life threatening injuries.  Officials say Hilliard was transported to Norwalk Hospital where he later died due to his injuries.

Police say the vehicle that struck him fled the scene before officers had arrived. However, they say officers later located the suspect vehicle on Ely Avenue.

Norwalk Police say there is no further information at this time and the investigation is still ongoing.

Authorities ask that anyone that witnessed this accident or has any information should contact police at 203-854-3035.
