Tips for staying safe during high wind

(WTNH)– Jose could result in strong winds along the Connecticut shoreline. Emergency crews want to remind all of us to be especially aware of our surroundings.

Hurricane Jose could cause, not only coastal flooding, but fierce winds! Emergency crews say downed wires, trees and widespread outages are all big concerns. So, here are a few reminders ahead of the storm.

The Norwalk Fire Department says you should remember that the safest place during high wind is inside. You should also watch out for flying debris.

Also remember not to touch any downed power lines.

And if you are driving, keep a safe distance from cars. Because those strong gusts could push your car.
