8 Minute Meals: Chocolate Chip Cookie Waffles

(WTNH)-Kelsey Banfield whips up a family treat for fall.

(Makes 8 Waffles)

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons light brown super

1/2 teaspoons baking poder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled

2 large eggs

1 3/4 cups whole milk

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips, for serving

pure maple syrup, for serving

  1. Preheat and grease waffle iron. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla until completely smooth. Fold in the flour mixture, stirring until just combine. The batter should be fairly runny.
  3. Cook the waffles according to manufacturer’s directions, using about 1/4 of the batter per waffle. The second a hot waffle comes off the iron, place it on a plate and sprinkle it with a few chocolate chips. Drizzle with maple syrup and serve!
