MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH)– A gas leak has closed a road in Manchester and evacuated some apartments Wednesday morning.

Police say Oakland Street, Route 83, is closed between Rachel Road and Tutor Lane due to a gas leak from an underground gas line.

A few nearby apartments were evacuated but police say that the evacuation was out of caution and that there has been no medical calls related to the gas leak.

The gas company is responding to the scene to make repairs at this time.
