Hamden Police rescue woman at Sleeping Giant State Park

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Officers from the Hamden Police Department rescued a woman at Sleeping Giant State Park on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, around 3:45 p.m., a “concerned citizen” reported a woman sitting on the edge of a cliff at the park.

Police climbed a portion of the mountain in an attempt to rescue the 35-year-old woman.

Officers say after a 90-minute exchange, they were able to convince the woman to step away from the cliff. Officers then provided assistance to the woman while descending down the mountain.

Once she was safely down, the woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her name has not been released.
