Two facing narcotics charges in Norwich

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people in Norwich are facing charges after police say they located them during an active narcotics sale on Wednesday.

According to police, officers located 35-year-old David Matthews and 26-year-old Barbara Corcoran, both of Norwich, at the scene of a narcotics sale in the city.

Police say Matthews was engaged in the sale while Corcoran was in possession of narcotics.

Matthews has multiple arrest warrants including one for an incident that occurred July when police say he led them on a motor vehicle pursuit.

Both were arrested without incident and are facing a number of charges including possession of narcotics.

Matthews was held on a total of $390,000 in bonds, while Corcoran was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

Both are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
