In The Bender Kitchen: Olde Mistick Village/Sticky Situations

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Stephen Clemente, Owner and Founder of Sticky Situations is here sharing a delicious Immune Booster Smoothie Recipe!

Sticky Situations located in Olde Mistick Village in Mystic, CT is the premiere destination for those fans of where to buy local honey products, experience artisan infused honey, sample real maple syrup, and learn more about the various 300 species of plants, flowers, and vegetation that honey bees feast on throughout the United States. We’ve been in business for the past 7 years and is considered to be one of the premiere “real food” destinations in New England, as we make all of our products and raise all of our own honey bees.

In terms of immunity boosting ingredients that viewers should start to incorporate into their daily dietary regimen, they consist of raw honey, hempseed oil, apple cider vinegar, and bee pollen. Using these ingredients together can be tricky, unless they are used properly and maintain their “raw” status, you’ll receive none of their immune boosting powers. So, we’ll teach viewers how to make a basic “breakfast or lunch smoothie” using these core ingredients to maximize the impact on their immune system in advance of flu and cold season.

1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 medium banana (optionally frozen)
1 teaspoon raw CINNAMON HONEY
1/2 teaspoon raw BEE POLLEN
1/2 cup mixed berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries)

Add all of the ingredients into your blender and blend on high for approximately 60 seconds, which should yield a frothy whipped texture to your smoothie and allow for the hempseed oil and honey to fully emulsify.
