Person injured after car hits building in Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH)– A person was injured after crashing their car into a building in Danbury, early Thursday morning.

The Danbury Fire Department says firefighters, police and EMS responded to West Street, near Oil Mill Road, for reports of a car crash. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a small car had left the roadway on Oil Mill Road and struck the building at 152 West Street, before landing in some bushes.

Firefighters had to extricate the single occupant of the car. The victim was then taken by ambulance to Danbury Hospital for treatment. Their identity and current condition is unknown at this time.

The accident remains under investigation. The scene was cleared around 5:30 a.m.
