Newington police identify people involved in Gilbert Road homicide

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Newington police have released the identities of the people involved in a homicide incident on Gilbert Road Thursday.

Officers identified the victim as 46-year-old Patricia Torbicki, of Newington. Her husband, 45-year-old Michael Torbicki, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

On Thursday, police ordered a ‘shelter in place‘ for the neighborhood. A neighbor told News 8 that when she went to water her garden, she saw what she thought was a Halloween prop. When she went over, she found her neighbor dead in the front walkway of her house. She then called 911.

After 3 hours, police were able to take Michael Torbicki into custody. Police are still conducting their investigation.
