Capitol Report: Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim shares thoughts on potential casino

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — The potential for a casino is Bridgeport has a number of people talking about its potential to bring new jobs and business to the city.

Few people have expressed more support for the project than Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, saying, “This is an entertainment and hotel company, one of the largest in the world, raising their hand saying, ‘We want to come to Bridgeport, we want to come to Connecticut when major corporations are pulling out.’ So that and the revenue to the state of Connecticut, when Connecticut is short hundreds of millions of dollars, makes it a no-brainier.”
