Capitol Report: Governor Malloy attacks Republican budget plan for education cuts

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — It’s been another week with no budget, no veto and no agreement on anything in The Nutmeg State.

Suffice it to say, Governor Dannel Malloy does not like the Republican state budget plan.

The big issue for him is cuts to education funding.

“It’s the thing that matters the most…[for the] vast majority of those who live in poverty.”

University of Connecticut President Susan Herbst also spoke out this week, worried about what a massive cut of more than a quarter billion dollars over two years would do to UConn.
