New Haven Firefighters extinguish early morning blaze Sunday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Firefighters responded to an early call in New Haven on Sunday morning.

A fire broke out at 38 Bishop Street around 4 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, there was a working fire on the third floor of the residential building that had originated in the kitchen.

Firefighters were about to put out that fire very quickly.

No people were hurt in the blaze, but five were displaced due to water and smoke damage to the building.

Officials are trying to determine what caused the fire.
