Windsor Locks man arrested for alleged sale of narcotics

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH) — Windsor Locks Police arrested a 19-year-old man who was allegedly selling narcotics on Tuesday.

Members of the Windsor Locks Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency executed multiple search and arrest warrants for Joshua Welch, 19, following a month long investigation. Welch had two active arrest warrants involving the prior selling of over 300 illegal pills within Windsor Locks, as well as an active search and seizure warrant.

Welch was found at a Wendy’s on Ella Grasso Turnpike in Windsor Locks, where he was arrested.

The search warrant led to the discovery of approximately 576 illegal narcotic/controlled substance pills, worth approximately $727, and about 223.8 grams of marijuana. Materials and equipment used to prepare and package narcotics for street sale were also found at his residence.

Welch was charged with Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell as well as the Sale of Narcotics. He was held on a $100,000 bond and appeared in court on Sept. 20. His next court date is Oct. 13.
