American medical students stranded in Dominica

(ABC News) — More than a week after Hurricane Maria battered the island, hundreds of American medical students are still stranded in Dominica.

95 percent of the island still has no power.

As thousands of people have nowhere to go, U.S. military forces are trying to bring American students back home.

Some have been stranded for more than a week as the island’s residents face dire conditions.

An international team worked to evacuate students from Dominica, and now, all those students are on their way home.
