HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Day 88 without a state budget but who’s counting? Legislative leaders from both political parties are scheduled to meet face to face with the Governor Tuesday for the first time since the Republican budget passed the House and Senate on September 15-16.

The Governor has continued to bash the plan as “anti intellectual, anti labor, anti teacher, anti jobs training and anti economic development.”

Republicans say the Governor is exaggerating and insist he should sign it. He has vowed to veto it. It has still not arrived at his desk as the lawyers at the Legislative Commissioner Office are still going over the 1,000 plus page document.

Also on Tuesday, parents of people with intellectual disabilities plan to visit the capitol to plead with lawmakers to pass a budget that will include funding for services for their sons and daughters. There is a waiting list of 2,000 plus of families hoping to receive residential support before their parents die.
