I-84 East reopens in Southbury after tractor trailer, street sweeper crash

SOUTHBURY, Conn. (WTNH)–  I-84 East has reopened in Southbury after a crash involving a tractor trailer truck and a street sweeper on Tuesday morning.

The Department of Transportation says that I-84 Eastbound has reopened between Exits 16 and 17 after it was shutdown because of the accident.

State Police say the crash involved a tractor trailer truck and a street sweeper. Extrication was needed and there were injuries reported in the accident but the extent is unknown at this time.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed in the area as there is still congestion from the crash.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
