Critical remarks written in chalk on Southington driveway

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Southington Police are searching for whoever vandalized the driveway of a home in town.

According to police, officers responded to a report of vandalism at a residence on Olson Drive on Tuesday.

Police say their investigation showed chalk was used to write critical remarks saying the residents supported President Trump in the 2016 election. Police say the messages stated the residents’ ancestors were immigrants and, in supporting Trump, the residents were supporting their own deportation.

The message used the words “bigots” and “racists” and also made fun of the home’s Halloween decorations.

Police say there are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 860-621-0101.
