Man arrested with machete, drugs during Killingly traffic stop

KILLINGLY, Conn. (WTNH)–A 24-year-old man was arrested on drug and weapons charges after being pulled over in Killingly on Wednesday night.

Police say at around 10:50 p.m., troopers pulled over a Cadillac Escalade on Reynolds Street after it made an illegal U-Turn and was found to be towing an unregistered trailer.

Troopers say while speaking to the driver, Shaquille Reece, of Webster, Massachusetts, he consented to a search of his vehicle. During that search, police found a machete and a bag of heroin.

Troopers then brought in police K9 Ambrie who alerted them to 15 bags of crack cocaine (10 grams) pre-packaged for sale in Reece’s waistband area. About $1076.00 in US currency was also seized.

Reece was arrested and charged with Possession of Narcotics and Possession of Narcotics WITS, Weapons in a Motor Vehicle, Illegal U-Turn and Towing an Unregistered Motor vehicle.

Reece was held on a $2,500 cash bond.
